The Year Was 1993...

1993.

When you say it out loud, it doesn't seem like all that long ago, does it? Well, just for fun, let's take a little trip back in time and remember...

Troy Aikman and Emmitt Smith and Michael Irvin were winning the Super Bowl with the Dallas Cowboys (yes, kids, the Cowboys used to play in those)...

Crystal Pepsi made a splash (albeit short-lived) with Van Halen providing the soundtrack...

Bill Murray kept waking up on the same day, over and over and over and over (you get it) again...

Appalachia got absolutely HAMMERED with an epic blizzard in March...

Squints made his move on Wendy Peffercorn, while Smalls was killing Ham with his lack of S'mores experience...

AOL started mailing floppy disks (for those born after 2000, ask your parents) to everyone, and we can all STILL hear the sound...

Dinosaurs somehow came to life and scared the bejeezus out of Jeff Goldblum...
Meatloaf would do ANYTHING except, well, that (whatever that was)...

The Deuce first hit the cable airwaves, and five days later, Keith Olbermann went on air to tell us all that Michael Jordan was retiring from the NBA, ultimately to play BASEBALL...

Oh, and perhaps most significant, people got their first taste of Blue Smoke Salsa, when Robin Hildebrand launched the brand from her Fayette County, WV home.

So, yeah, you could say 1993 was a big year. We think so, at least.

And it wasn't really THAT long ago, right?
